Depression and hypomania
I'm experiencing periods of depression which last from 2-3 days to a week. After that everything seems normal and sometimes I feel very good, have high self-confidence and feel elated and energetic. During the low phase, I feel really down and depressed. My mind is constantly racing with unreached thoughts. I have trouble falling asleep. I am filled with feelings of low self-esteem. I feel paranoid. I think it'd be better if I got into a coma or something (but not death).

Try not to put yourself in the bracket of mental  illness. Probably fear of uncertainty pushes you to low phase. Good that you are able to differentiate the emotions that you go through.  Seek help of a Counsellor who will be in a position to help you channelise your thoughts and processes.
