Dental crown issue
I m 21 having dental crowns in front 4 teeths. Did it 2 months back. I am having toothache and gum irritation since then. My crown is way above my gum line and its very thick thats why tounge is always touching the crown, this has caused pain in my tounge because of bending as it is always it contact with crowned teeth. Is there any way that crowns can be thin?just like natural teeth so that my tounge is not touching my teeth and the crown is at the gumline, not above it? I want to change my crown and don't feel the same things again as it very painful and depressing.

Your condition as there is no photo available , im assuming it could be because of these reasons 1 tooth preparation is not done well 2 crown size is not checked before insertion 3 your gum line went down due to gingivitis 4 gingival recession Solution : get the crown removed by the dentist, check if you have gingival recession if its there its better to see a periodontist for that matter and replace the crown later on. If its because the crown size get it changed .

As u mentioned it looks like there is either insufficient tooth prepration or crown are bulky that is causing u continuous irritation And may be it’s fault on lab technician side Get us crown replaced with zirconia they cost a bit high but are more aesthetic and strong But make sure tooth prepration is proper and impression is good cause these may also lead to problems u are suffering

Hii... Firstly if you are not happy with your crowns of front teeth then you should consult a good Dentist & explain him / her your main concern. Thickness of crown is depend upon the material you select. Nowadays Zirconia crowns are the best solution for aesthetics. You should get it replaced. It comes with proper margins so it won't be irritating or it won't be above your gum line.

Yes , i can understand your concern as its your front teeth so it needs to be aesthetically pleasing and should not cause any pain or irritation… You should definitely change the crowns. Get it examined by a dentist and get an x-ray done for your teeth and let the dentist know your concern and give a proper idea for what type of crown you want . As there are different types of crown available… Get the best one which suits you perfectly in aesthetical appearance and does not trouble your tongue and before that get the pain and gum irritation part treated. You can consult me for further details…
Next Steps
Get the crown changed by the dentist.

Its always best to get evaluated if the irritation is persistent. Gums should not irritate after cementing new crowns. Artificial crowns can be replicated just like your natural tooth and its contour. Front teeth crowns can be mimicked with a life like appearance depending upon the choice of crown opted for. Thanks
