Generally CBCT scan is recommended when a doctor wants more clarification on some area. CBCT evaluates underlying bone structure, nerve pathways and surrounding soft tissues.
So If doctor suggests it then go for it.
If your planning for ONLY extraction, CBCT might not be required, unless the tooth has a different morphology or if there’s any lesion/cyst/tumour pertaining to that tooth . Some cases of wisdom tooth extraction needs CBCT too if the roots are suspected to be approximating the nerve
Good morning...
If the dr suspects that there is some anatomical structures close to the concerned teeth and wants a proper clarification so that he or she can plan safe teeth extraction process he will advice cbct..so it depends on situation whether it's required or not
