OCP are usually prescribed as contraception also used in other health conditions like PCOS. Periods can happen once the pills are stoped after use for about 21 days which cause Periods during which iron supplement tablets are taken by the patients to continue sense of every day pill consumption also to provide iron supplement. They are prescribed after see patients history(eg. DVT) and habits like smoking which can have adverse effects if started OCPs.
