Thank you for sharing the label 🙏. I went through the ingredients of **Amrita Bindu Syrup** from your photo. ### Key points about ingredients: * Most are **herbal digestive and carminative drugs**: ginger, long pepper, black pepper, neem, cardamom, cinnamon, cassia fistula, ajamoda, ashwagandha, etc. * It also contains **Navasaram (Sal ammoniac)** and **Chapala bhasma** (mineral preparation) in very small quantity. * No iron-containing bhasma (like Loha, Mandura, or Kasisa) is listed → so *iron-induced black stool* is unlikely. ### Why your stools might be dark: 1. **Tannins and resins** from herbs (Neem, Haritaki-type substitutes, Cassia fistula, etc.) can darken stool. 2. **Spices like pepper, cinnamon, and ginger** sometimes give stools a darker shade. 3. **Bhasma (Chapala)** though in very small quantity, may also contribute to stool color change. ### When it is **normal**: * Stools look **darker brown or blackish** but remain of normal consistency and no foul odor. * No abdominal pain, vomiting, dizziness, or weakness. * No sticky/tarry texture. ### When it is a **concern**: * Jet black, sticky, tarry stools (melena). * Associated with abdominal pain, giddiness, weakness, vomiting. * If you have a history of gastritis, ulcers, or are taking painkillers/NSAIDs. ✅ Based on this formula, mild darkening of stool is usually a **benign and expected effect** of the herbs. ⚠️ If stools are **very black and tarry or accompanied by other symptoms**, you should **stop the syrup and consult a doctor** to rule out internal bleeding. --- Would you like me to also suggest **how long it is safe to continue Amrita Bindu Syrup** and whether you can take it daily for digestion support? Advice- self medication is hazardous, always consult ayurvedic doctor before taking ayurvedic medicine. Consult me personally for details.

Dark stools after taking Amrita Bindu syrup can happen sometimes because the syrup contains herbal ingredients that may alter stool color. This is usually harmless if it is only a mild darkening. However, if the stool is jet black, tarry, foul-smelling, or associated with abdominal pain, vomiting, weakness, or blood, it may indicate internal bleeding and should not be ignored.
Next Steps
If stools are just slightly darker without any other symptoms, usually not a concern, you can continue the medicine. If stools are very black/tarry or associated with the above symptoms stop the syrup and consult a physician immediately. Drink enough water and take a light diet to observe changes.
Health Tips
Please monitor carefully and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

Dark stools can sometimes occur due to the herbal contents of Amrita Bindu syrup, especially if it contains ingredients like Trikatu, Jeeraka, or iron-rich components. This is usually not harmful. However, if the stools are black, sticky (tarry), foul-smelling, or associated with weakness, dizziness, abdominal pain, or vomiting, it could indicate internal bleeding, which requires immediate medical attention. If there are no such symptoms and only mild darkening, it is likely due to the medicine. Consult me for further guidance.
