Cyst/ingrown pimple

Asked for Male, 24 Years

I have got something like a cyst or an ingrown pimple, which has just come on the surface of my skin and the area around it has slightly swollen and hence pains a lot at times. What should be done ? Should I just use ice pack and let it heal by itself or apply some cream ? Plus, will it leave a scar ? By the way, the cyst is perceptibly big !
