I have a very bad pain and swelling in one of my toe because of ingrown nail. Please advice me which type of specialist or doctor to approach for treatment and what is the suggested treatment.

Ingrowing toe nail - typically needs surgical intervention - partial nail avulsion and nail matrix ablation and the surgery may be performed by a qualified deramtologist/dermatosurgeon ; general surgeons and plastic surgeons too perform the same. You may need a course of antibiotics if there's pus discharge. Wear loose open footwear. Hope this helps

Pain and swelling is due to infection in the ingrown toe nail. Visit a dermatologist near you for partial nail plate removal and nail matrix destruction .start a course of antibiotics and painkiller.
