If the biopsy is confirmed of cancer then he would need a surgery wherein the tumour with the surrounding tissue will be removed and also the neck will be cleared of all nodes and fatty tissue as the chances of spread to the neck will always be there...final staging and whether he needs chemotherapy or radiation depends upon the final biopsy report after the surgery..
