Crooked Teeths
I have braces from past 5. The doc just keep telling my parents that it will get completed in a year. My upper front teeths are crooked. From past 5 years my teeths aren't moved a cm from their original place. I talked about this to my family but they belive that brace treatments takes many years to align teeths. The braces that doc used were not the common ones it was just the cheap wire that he tied on my teeth. My whole family believes that it takes a lot of time to get straighten. What should I do?

Dear friend, three might be two main reasons of such a prolonged treatment.. 1-patient 2- doctor. Pl ask yourself following questions- Are you maintaining appt schedules? Are you following all instructions given by your doc? Are you causing any breakages of appliance? If you are right on these aspects then you have all the right to question your doc. First find out if he/she is a qualified MDS orthodontist? If yes, then ask for the reason of such a prolong treatment point blank. If you get satisfactory answer then continue, else ask him to give a consent so you can continue with other orthodontist.

Generally even complex cases are completed comfortably in 1.5-2 years max. with presently used not necessarily expensive braces systems.

Convince ur parents to get a second opinion from another orthodontist since ur treatment period has been unreasonably long. Ideally treatment with fixed braces is completed in 2 years max. Regards.
