Creatinine rose 9.8 from 4.5 in 30 days.
My Father's creatinine level reached from 4.5 to 9.8 in 1 month. He is diabetic but diabetes is in control from last 3 years because of regular treatment. Currently, we are seeing doctor in Agra and as per his advise dialysis is only option. Just, want to get your expert opinion is dialysis only option. Can't creatinine level be managed by medicine or alternate treatment. My entire family is just waiting and hoping if something else can be done other than dialysis. Please advise.

The fact that the creatinine rose abruptly in just 1 month means that there is some acute component like infection , drug induced , heart problem and many more .. dialysis may be indicated for any other indications but not for solely raised creatinine .. one has to thoroughly look for the acute component and treat it .. usually creatinine may come down to baseline once it is taken care of
