A creatinine of 1.26 is just slightly above the usual range, and an eGFR of 66.5 points to a mild reduction in kidney function, not advanced disease. High protein intake over the past month can genuinely push these numbers up on its own, especially with a higher body weight.
Next Steps
Bring your protein intake back to a normal level, drink enough water through the day, and repeat the creatinine and eGFR after 3 to 4 weeks. If the numbers stay raised, a urine albumin test is worth doing to check further.
Health Tips
See a physician or nephrologist if the repeat test still shows a reduced eGFR, or if you notice swelling, reduced urine or persistent fatigue.
