My daughter is having cough and fever for last 7 days. Dengue, typhoid test are negative. X-ray chest shows some pneumonia symptoms. Complete blood count shows infection in WBC.
How to determine if it pneumonia. I see improvement in her in terms of fever in last 2 days. She was having high fever of 104 F in 4-5 hrs. Now it down to 101 F in 8-9 hrs.
Is she needs to be admitted to hospital for further diagnosis?

Pneumonia is a diagnosis made by auscultation of the chest by your paediatrician and supported by a X-ray.
Blood counts,if raised with higher neutrophil count also indicates bacterial infection.
Hospitalization is required only in 2 conditions, one,if child is very serious and second,if child is very dull and not eating at all.
If you think she's active and eating normally,AND you see clinical improvement in terms of reduced fever and better oral intake,no newsboy hospitalize.
