  4. Corn on the finger. Removed surgically?

Hi, My husband is diabetic and developed a corn on his index finger a couple of months ago. Now the corn had opened up and has a small pit. Do we get this removed surgically? Since we've heard that diabetics shouldn't be using corn caps.
