I'm planning to start my 6 month old baby on solids. I get contradictory suggestions on the addition of salt to baby food. Which is right?

No salt till 1 year. Baby will happily eat food even without salt. Salt is harmful for baby's immature kidneys.

There is not contradictory. You can start slowly. Give vegetables and fruits

a little bit salt is okay to be added . Definitely avoid packaged salt containing foods .
