Continuous cough and throat irritation
Urgent severe cough Mom's age: 59 I was having medication for acidity, severe burping, IBS, dyspepsia, and severe flatulence. Over time the acidity and burping is to a much lesser extent but due to GERD and severe acid reflux I started developing cough. I also have allergic cold with occasional nose blockage and chest congestion. With these two issues I have been having persistent cough over 3 years. Initially for one year it was only while I ate the fir 1st morsel of food where I would feel choked. Later it has been consistent. It is very severe in the night. I have cervical spondylitis. I do not take a pillow but lately have started using a soft pillow. It is dry, continuous cough day and night and persistent, leaving my stomach and back hurting. Attached is X-ray report. Plz help. Will be obliged 🙏

Untreated GERD is a common cause of chronic cough, other causes are bronchitis, lung tumor, using some BP medicines etc.To determine the severity of GERD, consult a gastroenterologist who may ask for a upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. However you can also try tablet ganaton 50 mg twice daily and vonoprazon 20 mg once a day for a few weeks.
