Consult back pain
My dad is suffering from severe back pain, kindly suggest him wat next to be done.. When consulted the near by doctor, I was suggested to consult him to cardiologist, tell me what next to be done

He should consult a physiotherapist.. It occurs with age due to some muscle weakness/degenerative changes/sedentary life style .
Next Steps
Go to a physiotherapist.. Ultrasonic therapy +IFT +Heating therapy +some strengthening exercises will be helpful for sure.
Health Tips
At home.. Rest +hot water fomentation +pain killer gel +no long sitting /standing /travelling /walking +no stair climbing +no cold exposure +no manual exertions +sit tall+lumbo sacral belt (if required) .

Backache at this age is mostly due to orthopaedic causes...ostroprosis..degenerative changes..etc..however yes cardiac causes are also there in some patients..if some one has seen and asked you for it, In my opinion cardiology consult should be the first thing to do..

Build muscle strength and flexibility. Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight strains back muscles. If you're overweight, trimming down can prevent back pain..... ,,
