Slowly start to decrease milk intake in child as milk can cause constipation in child and start to increase fiber in form of fruits like apple, chiku and also even salad can be included at this stage in mashed form , if more constipated then i will recommend some medicine. Take consultation
1.Try to reduce milk to only 2-3 times a day as it doesn't have fibre in it and hence causes constipation if given excessively. Beyond 6 months requirement of milk decreases in baby.
2.At this age your baby should have 3 major meals and 2 snacks
a.For meals- give khichdi with added vegetables, roti and sabzi, dal chawal, vegetables dalia, upma, chilla with vegetables, eggs if you can have that.
b.Snacks- fruits, home made Cerelac having mixed grain flour with crushed nuts, chicken soup or vegetables soup.
C.You can add ghee in each meal
D.Avoid using free sugars or excessive salt in meals
E.If your baby doesn't take anything apart from milk, start with one item per day after milk in the morning, gradually introduce items
3.May need to deworm the child, if he tries to eat soil, cement or any other inedible items.
Next Steps
Be patient with the child
Reduce milk and increase fibre
May need potty training too
