I am told it is okay if new born does not pass motion for 2-4 days, but my son who is 38 days old, since yesterday is trying to pass motion and is unable to do so which is making him cranky and irritable...he tries to put pressure and when he is not able to pass motion he cries and is in discomfort...Can we do anything?

Hi.
The babies till 4-6 months of age will pass motion once in 6-7 days .
Next Steps
Apply coconut oil around belly button and massage in a circular pattern daily. Place the baby on stomach for few minutes.
If still cranky give colicaid drops
