Complex cyst in right kidney
Sir, my father has been diagnosed with complex cyst with thick septa in right kidney measuring 38x31 mm as per latest CT scan. It was first discovered exactly an year back during routine diagnosis. It was 34x31 mm when it was discovered last year. We did 3 monthly Ultra sound followup for an year to monitor the growth of cyst. Pls advice what should be done. Is surgery a must or can we continue with a 6 monthly followup using Ulta sound to monitor the growth? Is the 4 mm increase in size significant in 1 year? Current CT scan report is attached. Pls advice.

Cyst with septations are definitely need to be dealt with caution. There is a chance that it could be malignant, if the treating urologist suggests surgery better get it done, only partial nephrectomy would be required, removal of the cystic lesion leaving normal kidney is what recommended
