Complaining of anal itch only in midnigh
My 2 year old complaining of anal itch only in midnight. I gave her Bandy plus 2 weeks ago then again repeated after 2 weeks. After giving Bandy plus, first week no complain but again after that she gets up crying and asks to remove her diaper. After removing diaper she sleeps. After repeating dose also, same complain every mid night of itching of bum. No rash noted. What could be the reason ?

Based on your description, the most likely cause is pinworm infestation, which is common in this age group and often causes anal itching at night, especially when the child is warm and lying down. You’ve already given Bandy Plus twice — which is appropriate — but in some cases, reinfection can occur quickly if hygiene isn’t maintained strictly. Even if the medication works, eggs can spread again through fingers, nails, clothes, or bedding.
Next Steps
Here’s what you can do now: 1. Hygiene is key – Trim nails short, encourage handwashing especially before eating and after using the toilet. 2. Wash the diaper area with warm water before bedtime. 3. Change bedsheets and underwear regularly – ideally every 2–3 days. 4. Keep diaper-free periods during the day if possible, to let the area breathe. 5. Levocetirizine (as advised) at bedtime can help with the itching temporarily. 6. Repeat deworming after 2 weeks (which you already did — that’s good).
Health Tips
If the itching still continues beyond a week, or if you notice any weight loss, irritability, poor sleep, or anything unusual, it’s best to get her examined in person — a stool test or physical exam may help rule out other causes. You’re doing the right thing by staying alert — sometimes pinworms need a little extra hygiene care along with medicine to break the cycle completely.

Your daughter probably has pinworm infestation. Along with medication hygiene measures are also important. Wash the diaper area with warm water Expose the area to open air (diaper free periods) to let the area breath. Change bedsheets every 3 days, wash with warm water. Trim nails as these worms spread through them. When the child itches, the eggs of the worm get into nails and then enter mouth leading to complete cycle. You can use Tab Levocetrizine for severe itching symptoms. Sialoderma cream for rash in the diaper area
Next Steps
maintain hygiene and use the medications adviced. If symptoms still persist get further investigations done in the nearest clinic
Health Tips
Keep other kids away as these pinworms spread faster among kids sharing same beds.

Next Steps
✅ Final Advice: This pattern strongly suggests recurrent pinworm infection. Deworming alone is not enough — hygiene control is key. Discuss a repeat dose and family-wide treatment with your pediatrician, and strictly follow hygiene protocols.
