Contrary to common belief, ice cream or cold drinks have NO relation to cold,it's a viral infection. If mild, avoid unnecessary medicine, just give steam inhalations for cold and use decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever if required.
