Focus on the diet you are taking. Have more liquid or semisolid diet and free of oily food and spicy food. Stay hydrated. It is common to have loose motions after taking medicine for acidity if medicines contain magnesium or calcium. You can have prebiotic and probiotic sachet mixed in water 1 or 2 times per day.
Opinion:
Your recurring pain on the left side of your stomach, combined with episodes of acidity and subsequent loose motions, may indicate an underlying gastrointestinal issue such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastritis, or a potential food intolerance. It's essential to identify the root cause to manage your symptoms effectively.
Next steps:
1. Detailed evaluation: Schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist for a comprehensive evaluation. This may include a physical examination, blood tests, stool tests, and possibly imaging studies or endoscopy to identify any underlying conditions.
2. Keep a symptom diary: Document your symptoms, including the timing, duration, and any potential triggers (e.g., specific foods, stress). This information can be valuable for your healthcare provider in diagnosing the issue.
3. Review medication: Discuss with your doctor the specific medications you have been taking and their potential side effects. Some medications for acidity might cause loose motions in some individuals.
4. Dietary modifications: Consider a diet low in irritants such as caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, and high-fat foods. A dietician can help create a tailored plan based on your symptoms and triggers.
5. Probiotics: Your doctor may suggest incorporating probiotics into your diet to help maintain a healthy gut flora and potentially reduce the frequency of loose motions.
6. Follow-up care: Regular follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider are crucial to monitor your condition and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
