Hello Ma’am, Most colds and coughs are caused by viral infections, and antibiotics do not work against viruses. That’s why antibiotics usually don’t give quick relief in such situations. For faster symptom control, focus on rest, warm fluids, steam inhalation, and avoiding cold or very spicy foods. You can also use salt-water gargles for throat relief. Usually, these measures help reduce the symptoms in a few days. If the cough and cold are very severe, associated with high fever, or not improving, then a doctor can evaluate you further. I hope it helps you. For proper management and treatment, you can consult me, just go to my profile.
