Coccydynia
My mom was diagnosed with tailbone pain. She was suffering from 6 months. What type of treatment do you suggest? Physical therapy? is MRI scan is required to confirm the problem.?

Your symptoms suggest coccydynia.(inflammation of coccyx). Try: 1. Sitz bath ( A tub of hot water with dettol in which affected are has to be dipped in- 10 mins twice daily) for 10 days. 2. Medications like Enzomac, Tendocare and Ceftum will help. Orthocort for resistant cases. 3. Sit on a soft pillow or coccydynia pillow. Coccydynia does not require MRI, it is a clinical diagnosis.
