Cisterna magna
Hi , i went for a late anomaly scan in 24 weeks. The cisterna magna measures 9.1mm , but when my last anomaly scan was done at 19 weeks it was 3.8mm. Other parameters in scans are normal. Even the cisterna magna is mentioned as normal. I'm worried that later in pregnancy it will increase, what is the possibility? Or it can be a normal finding? Please answer this

It is normal for this space to grow as the baby and the brain develop between 19 and 24 weeks. Why Your Results are Reassuring Normal Threshold: Since your measurement is below 10 mm, it is not currently classified as "mega cisterna magna". Isolated Finding: You mentioned that all other parameters in the scans are normal. When a slightly larger (but still normal) cisterna magna is found on its own without other brain or body abnormalities, it is very often a normal anatomical variation that has no impact on the baby's health or development
Next Steps
follow up scan

As it's within normal limits at present, don't worry Do follow up ultrasound at 28 weeks
