Chronic Asthma
Hello, My mother is 65 years old recently had a chronic asthma attack. She was on Ventilator for 6 days. Her lung capacity during a previous PFT test was only 28%. She is gradually recovering and doing lung exercise using a respirometer (the one with 3 balls, shes able to lift the yellow ball to half). The other problem however is shes having a lump near her ear and using FNAC analysis it was fount out to be a Pleomorphic Adenoma. The doctor advised that it should be removed surgically ( by superficial paratodictomy) Considering her age and her asthma is it a good decision to undergo surgery. I heard that General Anaesthisa has some serious effect on asthmatic patients. Is it ok if we don not undergo surgery. Will she be okay. I am really scared. I am also attaching the discharge summary and the FNAC report.

As per history of the patient that is chronic asthma and considering the age factor ,operate under general anaesthesia is risky as per fnac reports, its pleomorphic adenoma,it has malignant potentiality. With time it will cause metastasis that is cancerous growth in different parts of body. That is risky too in long.I think you should not go for operate.
