Cholesteatoma surgery method
Hi, I am 30 years old, diagnosed with cholesteatoma. I would like to know how the surgery is performed (Traditional tools or laser assisted-KTP laser, etc) and which method is better to avoid the chances of hearing loss and recurrence? If Laser is better, is there anyone in Bangalore or Chennai doing this with laser with some considerable experience on laser usage? Many thanks.

Cholesteatoma is a condition which involves your middle ear and mastoid bone. Mastoid exploration and removal of cholesteatoma with Reconstruction of middle ear is the standard treatment method which is commonly known as modified radical Mastoidectomy with tympanoplasty. There is no role of laser in cholesteatoma surgery. You need to consult a good ear surgeon
