I had an operation last year (20/12/16) to remove a cholesteatoma from my middle ear canal, after a year I'm stilll unsure as to whether it is safe enough for me to use headphones/earphones. I've been given the all clear from the disease, but am yet to have a follow up hearing test.

After cholesteatoma surgery it is safe to use headphones or earphones as soon as your surgical wound heals. There are no contra indications for use of headphones or ear phones. Be sure that you use earphones which are clean and sterile
