Based on this, your chest pain may be driven by severe gastric acid reflux (GERD) irritating your food pipe, acute anxiety-induced muscle tension, or intercostal muscle strain. However, for a proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying issues, we need to carefully separate your gastric symptoms from your anxiety triggers in a structured evaluation
Next Steps
To accurately evaluate your overlapping gastric symptoms, address your chest pain safely without causing you any clinical anxiety, and give you a clear, comforting treatment plan, please book a direct consultation session with me via my Practo profile."
Health Tips
Manage Gas and Reflux with Position Changes: Avoid lying down flat on your bed for at least 2 hours after eating any meal, and sleep with your head slightly elevated to prevent stomach gas from traveling up and triggering chest discomfort.
Practice Calming Grounding Techniques: When your chest hurts and you feel anxious, sit comfortably and try the 4-7-8 breathing technique (inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8) to relax your chest wall muscles naturally.
Based on the information provided by you , the chest pain experienced by you is most likely non-cardiac in origin, particularly given her young age, history of anxiety disorder, associated stomach discomfort, gas, and bloating, and the absence of other concerning symptoms mentioned. Anxiety can commonly cause chest tightness, discomfort, palpitations, and heightened awareness of bodily sensations. Gastrointestinal causes such as acid reflux, gastritis, or excessive gas can also produce chest pain that may mimic heart-related symptoms.
Your vitamin B12 and iron deficiencies may contribute to fatigue, weakness, or increased anxiety symptoms but are less likely to be the direct cause of recurrent chest pain. Despite the likelihood of a benign cause, persistent or recurrent chest pain should not be ignored. A clinical evaluation including vital signs, physical examination, ECG, and basic blood tests may be considered for reassurance and exclusion of underlying conditions.
Urgent medical attention is advised if chest pain becomes severe, occurs with breathlessness, fainting, palpitations, or radiates to the arm, jaw, or back.
