Chest ct scan with contrast safe to do?
Is it safe to do chest ct scan with contrast ? I having chest pain. Xrays are normal so Dr told me to have a ct scan for safer side.

For atypical chest pain there is no need for CT with contrasts. Make sure your kidney functions are good before doing it.

Do a renal function test to make sure your kidney are functioning normally as the contrast injected can be nephrotoxic. The scan is otherwise safe.
