To get the proper location of nerve and wisdom tooth you have to take a CBCT..The impacted wisdom teeth have to be removed otherwise the pain and tenderness will not be reduced..Minimum chances of tha nerve damage once the exact positions are revealed by CBCT...To reduce the clicking sound, TMJ( joint) has to be examined and palpated properly.

Proper clinical examination to confirm third molar as the cause of problem can be done .
Since the root of the wisdom tooth is very close to your main nerve , risk cannot be overruled. But it cannot be left untreated if it’s the cause .

Hello sir..
your clinical symptoms andradiological examination shows you have wisdom teeth...That tenderness and clicking sound is due to the impacted left upper wisdom teeth... All the 4 wisdom teeth is impacted and you need to remove all the 4.... As you have symptoms on only left side first remove that followed by removal of right side molar...
concerning the nerve involvement CBCT has to be taken to know the exact position of the nerve......

To know the exact relation of the tooth to the nerve, you would need a CBCT scan. Every surgeon has it’s own risk numbers. The documented risk of nerve damage is 5-10% temporary and 1-2% permanent.
From the X-ray it looks like you upper 2nd molar is pressing on the gum. So it might be worth considering to have that tooth slightly grinder and see whether it relieves the symptoms.
