Cervical stitches
I had my NT scan on 12w2d and the cervical length was shown as 31.00mm. My doctor advised me to do stitches to prevent risk. This is my 1st pregnancy and no past history. Mine is Ivf conception. Does cervical length reduce also after stitches? Will there be any impact on my baby due to anaesthesia?

No need for stitch unless cervical length is less than 2.5mm..even if ivf conception with singleton pregnancy..u can follow with cervical length weekly to see if decrease in length progresses..then it might b considered..

Hi ya as it is ivf conception and the length is just adequate to be on safer side better go for it ,and the anesthesia given generally doesn't harm the baby as such

Follow up with scan every 2 weeks ,if reducing cervical length, then stitch may be required
