ERP is a form of CBT developed for OCD. There is no cure for treating your thoughts or anxiety, if you've been told this, you're getting fooled. Therapy helps with managing these thoughts and reducing the power of these thoughts over you. This leads to a decrease in automatic negative thoughts. However, you must consult a therapist to understand this better and waste less time. The treatment modality and suitability can be discussed with your therapist.

You need counseling sessions and homeopathic medicine if required. Role of therapy can be introduced later. Currently start with above mentioned treatment plan, I'm sure you will be benefited. You need an expert Psychologist who is a good homeopathic physician.

Hi... CBT and ERP both are effective in treating negative or anxious thoughts & emotions. Infact Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is also a form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which was developed specifically to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It is natural to have such inhibitions about the outcome of a therapeutic intervention but going too much into it only reduces the chances of a healthy recovery. For any treatment to be effective a certain level of trust is necessary, not only on the professional but on the treatment methodology itself. Unfortunately, due to lack of awareness people often fall prey to such inhibitions and delay their treatment. The first step is assessment, based on which a prognosis is made and accordingly the treatment begins. The problem here is that you are trying to figure out a choice of treatment without having undergone any assessment by a professional. It is like a heart patient thinking of choosing the correct surgery without consulting a Cardiologist.

Consult a Psychologist.
