Cataract problem
My dad age is 60 ..he is affected by cataract ,he is advised to use moxifloxin drops before the surgery.. the drops prescribed for what purpose...to reduce d effect? Or to make him prepared for surgery? After using dem immediately he need to go for surgery?

It's to reduce the risk of infection during and after surgery
It's a broad spectrum antibiotic which kills most of the organisms already residing in conjunctival sac of an eye .
Generally it should be put for 3 days prior to surgery
