Cataract problem
My dad age is 60 ..he is affected by cataract ,he is advised to use moxifloxin drops before the surgery.. the drops prescribed for what purpose...to reduce d effect? Or to make him prepared for surgery? After using dem immediately he need to go for surgery?

Hello This is an antibiotic which  is prescribed before surgery to decease the risk of infection after surgery

It's to reduce the risk of infection during and after surgery It's a broad spectrum antibiotic which kills most of the organisms already residing in conjunctival sac of an eye . Generally it should be put for 3 days prior to surgery
