Hello Both monofocal and multivocal are good Multivocal are not suitable if astigmatism is more than 1 D or patient has lot of work on computer or patient does a lot of night driving. Cost of monofocal varies from 5000 to 35000 depending on type of lens used Multifocal cost varies from 30000 to 50000 depending on lens and hospital

Multifocal IOL gives you spectacle independence post surgery. Your dependence on spectacle is reduced post Multifocal implant. Not all patients are suitable for Multifocal implant. A meticulous preop work up is needed to determine the suitability. The major issue post Multifocal IOL is presence of glare and haloes especially. At nights. Some patients get accustomed to this some don't. I have operated on patients coming in from Singapore Malaysia and uae for this as it's cheaper in India to get a multifocal implant.

A good IOL can cost you anything between 6K - 60 K in rupees. Choice of surgery and type of lenses , better you leave it to the doctor to explain as after proper examinations of your mother , concerned eye specialist will be better equipped to answer your all queries.
