Carries remains under filling
I have done composite filling and there is some carries already remains under the filling(because its deep so my dentist told more drilling can expose the nerve)..now my question is that instead of tight composite filling how bacteria can survive and progress?? How they gets nutrition as tight filling remains...

There are filling materials used to help in remineralization of the affected part. 2) How good a seal was achieved there is no leakage, so no nutrients reach the bacteria. 3) How well oral hygiene is maintained?

The tooth contains dentin when the tooth gets caries we divide dentin into infected dentin (has active infection) affected dentin( no active infection) if we remove infected dentin completely then there is no problem because affected dentin doesn’t cause any serious issue it will heal by it self . Bt if the dentist failed to remove infected dentin also then there is chance of reinfection
