Explanation for Your Symptoms Dear patient, You’ve mentioned that you are diagnosed with cervical spondylosis and are experiencing: Difficulty focusing on moving objects Pain in both ears Forgetting names and places Let me explain this to you in simple terms: 🌟 What’s Happening in Your Body? Cervical spondylosis is a condition where the bones, discs, and joints in your neck undergo wear and tear. It can sometimes cause pressure on nearby nerves or the spinal cord. Ear pain can happen due to irritation of certain neck nerves (especially C2–C3) that refer pain to the ear region. Difficulty focusing on moving objects and forgetting names may happen due to a combination of factors: Poor posture affecting blood flow or nerve signals Pain and sleep disturbance affecting attention and memory Stress or anxiety related to chronic discomfort ✅ What You Should Do Consult a Neurologist: To check if your spinal cord or nerves are being compressed or if there's any underlying cause of memory or focus issues. Get an MRI of the Cervical Spine: This will show if there's pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots that might explain the symptoms. Start Neck Therapy: Begin neck physiotherapy with posture correction and gentle exercises. Use warm compress or prescribed medicines for neck and nerve pain. Avoid prolonged mobile or screen time with head bent down. Manage Forgetfulness: Stay mentally active with reading, puzzles, and memory games. Ensure adequate sleep, hydration, and nutrition. Supplement with Vitamin B12, folic acid, or B-complex if advised. Keep Stress Under Control: Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing or yoga. Talk to a counsellor if emotional health is affected. 🌈 Is It Curable? Yes, most symptoms improve significantly with early treatment, posture correction, physiotherapy, and supportive care. Memory and focus usually return once pain, sleep, and stress are addressed. 📌 References Harrison’s Manual of Medicine, 20th Ed: Cervical spondylosis and its neurological features, including myelopathy and referred symptoms. Remove high pillow, avoid neck bending. For ear pain, take tab voveran 50mg one every 8hours after meals for 2 to 3 days. Consult ENT specialist physically for assessment of ear pain. Share details of neck pain and forgetfulness. Because 27 is young for cervical spondylitis.
