Rabies virus spreads only by the bite of an infected animal. I have never heard of the spread of a virus by just touching something contaminated by an animal. So I don't think you are at risk.
But do take TT, tetanus toxoid, because you are at risk of getting that from a cactus prick more than getting Rabies.

With any exposure associated with blood, a tetanus shot is a must. And yes, if it is a significant wound, then antibiotic cover can be given based on the nature of injury.
But as far as rabies is concerned, the virus lives inside the secretions of the infected animal.
So it spreading via other fomites is very very unlikely.
So please don't worry.
