No. Eat fibrous food and vegetables for better bowel movements. Long term laxatives will cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalances which causes seizures , heart rhythm changes, weakness, diarrhoea , constipation , etc Regular healthy food habits and movement (like walking, exercise) lead to healthy gut movement and health.
Next Steps
Add carrots , cucumbers , guavas etc to diet.

What do you want to take the laxative daily for? Is it a psychological thing that you can't go to washroom without taking laxative? It needs to be evaluated. But one advice, kindly don't take laxative daily, it becomes a bad habit and spoils your gut. It might cause intestinal movement issues jn future. So yea, stop it, and consult me for further evaluation.
