See as I can see you already have hypothyroid and if not taking care of it could lead to more severe health conditions like diabetes, heart problems and kidney problems. Yes definitely you can stay healthy for long-term but not without changing your lifestyle and diet. Changing and adjusting a new lifestyle for better does not take much just eat healthy start exercising little go for a walk after every heavy meal like dinner and lunch. Walk could be range from 500 steps to 1000 steps anywhere in your room lawn on road just do it. Include plenty of vegetables, salads and fruits in your diet more than 3-4 servings. Use multigrain atta or bran with atta for your chappatis. Stay away from all kind of junk, fried and maida(refined flour) items. Stay hydrated 2-3 litres of water in a day. Add nuts like almonds and walnuts in a day. Eat small and frequent meals like breakfast followed by mid morning snack then lunch then evening snack then dinner followed by Jasmine tea before bed.
