Can I smoke while I taking ssri
I read in internet that nicotine reduce effect of ssri, is it true' I have ocd and specific phobia I am taking paroxitine and pregabalin can I smoke

Hi thanks for seeking help here. We are here to help you. You must know nicotine is definitely reduce will reduce the effect of medication. However smoking less amount of cigarette like one or two per day will not affect the medication dose. So we suggest you can reduce the use else need higher dose of medication

Smoking can trigger anxiety symptoms and it can worsen your phobia. So it’s best avoided. Or consider harm reduction and limit the number of cigarettes to 1 or 2

Smoking usually induces enzymes like cyp450 which inturn might affect the drug concentration. In addition whether you are on  medications or not, smoking has always been having ill effects on the body
