This is regarding a problem that my father has been facing for along time. after eating anything even mildly spicy my father experiences a burning sensation in his mouth. He has consulted a doctors regarding this matter and has also taken medicines but the problem persists. The problem occurs mainly in the upper wall of the mouth.

Along with antioxidants and ointments, please check if he has a dry mouth problem. It's very common at this age.
For that ask him to increase his water intake and also use a dry mouth gel like Duestom.
