My son fell down and got a bump on his head last night.
No vomiting or bleeding, is fully conscious and is responding well.
He went to school today and developed fever 100°F.
His bump has come down, as we applied icepack on it. But there is some swelling and pain in that area.
Is this normal. Can the fever be related to the injury by any chance

If he is conscious since, then fever might not be related to injury.
In case he develops vomiting/ altered sensorium/ seizures, then a CT head would be needed.
Fever develop after any injury. Rarely in case of intracranial bleeding, fever develops, for which admission is advised.
I hope this helps.
Some swelling and pain is common after fall and will last few days. Fever is not related to injury in such cases. Please meet a pediatrician for check up.
