A bulging disc is often seen and by itself is nothing to worry about. These are known as "incidental findings" . A study done by my team revealed that 10 % under 20 years will have these findings. It is however a concern if it is associated with tingling / numbness/ pain in the legs . Difficulty in sitting due to pain and difficulty in walking. If these symptoms are present , then please meet a spine specialist. If not , you may play sports as usual!
