The best person to answer this question is the one who is treating her at present.
Her treatment depends purely on the examination findings. CRP will come down automatically once the infection is controlled.
Continue mox for 7 days
Crp.will take time to come to normal levels
If she is symptomatically improving, don't worry
For cough , take cough syrup ascoril ls 2 tsp.tds
Answer to your question needs more information-
How is she after taking azithromycin?
Does she have cough with mucous frequently or it is first time?
Was there any
Is the cough more early morning?
Was there associated throat pain and or chest pain?
Was there any wheezing?
High crp indicates ongoing inflammation.
Next Steps
add Ascoril cough syp 5ml every 8 hours for 3 days.
Health Tips
She should take steam inhalation at least twice every day, drink lukewarm water take honey with hot milk, even if in small quantity.
Repeat CRP.
Being a MD Medicine doctor, i would say that she may need Inhaler for few days. CRP is just an indicator of infection here, it's not that high. You need to check O2 saturation sometimes 4 hourly. If any confusion, may consult online.
As per the history provided
Azithromycin 500 Once for 4 days is not sufficient.....you started Amoxiclav 625 bt please complete antibiotics course....don't stop in midway...
For symptomatic relief
Syp Ascoril LS 5 ml twice or Thrice daily (depends on severity of cough)
Steam inhalation
Nebulization if needed....
If not getting relief after medication then pls consult to nearby physician for detecting warning signs and severity of disease...
Thank you for sharing the details about your mother’s condition. Based on the information provided:
- **Bronchitis with CRP 35** indicates a significant inflammatory response, likely due to a bacterial infection (normal CRP is typically <10 mg/L).
- While the chest X-ray shows no pneumonia ("milk bronchitis" suggests mild changes), the elevated CRP warrants close monitoring.
- **Azithromycin for 4 days** may not have been sufficient, and **amoxicillin 625 mg** is a reasonable next step if a bacterial infection is suspected.
**Key Recommendations:**
1. **Monitor closely** for worsening fever, breathlessness, or persistent cough.
2. **Hydration and steam inhalation** can help loosen mucus.
3. **Repeat CRP after 48–72 hours** if symptoms persist to assess treatment response.
**Important Note:**
CRP 35 is moderately high, and without a physical examination or detailed history (e.g., oxygen levels, comorbidities like diabetes), it’s difficult to gauge severity fully. **I strongly advise a consultation** to ensure proper evaluation and avoid complications.
