My father is 80 years old. He has been experiencing breathing difficulty for the past week. However, his breathing is not getting completely stuck or blocked.

Breathing issues maybe due to COPD or heart failure as his heart size is increased. Take him to the nearby physician for proper checkup and evaluation.

Thank you for sharing the X-ray. At 80 years, one week of breathlessness usually means chest infection, COPD flare or heart failure - all need examination and oxygen saturation check, which a photo cannot replace.
Next Steps
Please take him to a physician today with the X-ray, and check oxygen level at home if possible. If saturation is below 92 or breathing worsens, go to emergency.

He has enlarged heart and could be having heart failure. Please share details of his health issue, then I can guide further.
Till then for breathlessness give him tab acebrophylline 100mg one morning and one evening, tab dytor 5mg in morning.
