I have slight lip assymetry and I front tooth gap will braces help symmetry and some say braces are very painful is this true?

Definitely your dental asymmetry can be corrected. If lip asymmetry is due to teeth, it will be corrected. You orthodontist will evaluate you and will be able to tell you the amount of correction before treatment.  Braces are only as painful as a 11 year old child can tolerate. Pain is mild and will last 2 to 3 days every appointment.  But patients usually get used to it by the third appointment. No pain, no gain!

its a myth , braces are not at all painfull although you may experience some discomfort in the initial days ,

Braces are not at all painful. You might experience some discomfort on and off but no pain. Some gaps can be managed without braces also.
