Developed a boil much below my armpit on the left side around 10 -12 days back it was very painful since the start took medicine Bactrim ds and doloral for 7 days now the boil has punctured and the pus has drained out but still it has not cured completely and the pain n slight redness is still there should I continue this medicine for more time or pls advise any other medicine

I think a proper Incision and Drainage is required as there might be still some collection of pus which is mediating these inflammatory reactions. Switching to antibiotics wouldn't help much as a thorough drainage of pus is required. Even color of pus is not be examined to know the nature of organism and then we need to select an antibiotics accordingly
