Boil on Eye lid during pregnancy
Hello Doctor, My wife is 9months pregnant and she got a boil on her eye lid. We are applying hot compresses but She is struggling to manage as it is very painful. Can she take ciprofloxacin eye drops to treat this condition, is this antibiotic safe during pregnancy? Please Help

in 3rd trimester, there are no contraindications for medicines. Best will be to show to local Ophthalmologist who can prescribe medications after checking if it is a stye.. Or share pictures at least

Hi goodmorning. Yes she can put vigamox eye drops Three times a day for five days . One drop each . Once she puts the drop ask her to close eyes and apply pressure on the medial end of the eye where the eye meets the nose. She also need to put lubricants like refresh liquigel four times a day in both eyes to reduce dry eye induced by hormonal changes during pregnancy to prevent further infection. Continue hot fomentation
