Blood report shows dengue
Hi my father's blood platelets have been reduced from 130 on Friday to 91 on Sunday. In the first report it showed positive for dengue but doc simply asked to just take rest and replenish liquids, on Sunday we went for 2nd opinion and he said that there are 3 types of dengue and you have the least serious one so this much platelets Decrease is normal and should simply rest and just gave paracetamol for the high fever. Is the platelet count too low ? What should be done for fast recovery?

The advice of doctors is right. Viral infections won't last for long time and are self limiting , unless complicated. Alarming platelet count is usually 40000 with clinical manifestations of hemorrage or 20000. So no need to worry. Hydrate well Good protein diet Electrolytes That's it. Management is mainly symptomatic. I am sharing a link https://drsandeepkumar.com/2017/09/01/dengue-fever-symptoms-and-what-to-do-if-you-think-you-have-dengue/
